Hold the measuring tape horizontally across the widest part of the natural nail, using a pen or marker to mark the widest part of the nail on the left side and on the right side of the nail. Remove the tape place it on a flat surface and measure the space in between the marks you made using a ruler or tape measure. Repeat the step for each nail, however a nail kit is highly suggested because every nail brand and shape fits different.
